Darcey Addo for School Board and Melissa Martin advocate

April 4th, 2016

Indian River Lagoon needs our help! Melissa Martin will join us from the Indian River Lagoon Task force to talk about recent events and what needs to be done for the future.

Phil Stasik will join us to talk about local campaigns and what we need to do to keep Brevard County Great.

Please get in contact with Space Coast Progressive Alliance- they have some upcoming events about the Lagoon and other topics that are specific to Brevard County.  www.scpaflorida.com/

We are blessed to have Darcey Addo on the show!  From Darcey’s Website: A large part of my advocacy includes leading the Opt Out Brevard group, which involves empowering parents to understand their rights to refuse high stakes tests. As a teacher married to a teacher, I advocate for cooperative, collaborative relationships within the school to facilitate multiple measures of assessment while rejecting the detrimental and punitive consequences associated with high stakes tests.

For the past two years I have served as one of the Florida Sterling Council Examiners, one of less than 100 Examiners selected from across the state. This rigorous training helped me learn to evaluate public, private, and non-profit organizations and provide feedback regarding their processes and performance. This experience has given me the practical application of my academic knowledge. My ability to apply the Baldrige National Quality Criteria to process and performance improvement, specifically as it relates to leadership and strategic planning makes me an unmatched candidate in this election.
