Autism Awareness
Autism Awareness Month, also referred to as World Autism Month or Autism Acceptance Month, is celebrated throughout April to raise awareness about autism, highlight the strengths of autistic individuals, and encourage inclusive practices in communities, schools, and workplaces. It begins with World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, recognized by the United Nations, and serves as a starting point for month-long activities that educate the public and foster understanding.
Purpose and Significance
The month aims to move beyond mere awareness to practical understanding of autism, emphasizing respect, inclusion, and support for autistic people. It addresses common misconceptions, reduces stigma, and promotes equitable access to education, healthcare, employment, and social opportunities. Autism is a neurological difference, not a deficit, and autistic individuals may experience the world differently in terms of communication, sensory processing, and social interaction.
BABA Senior Outreach
We are a private, not-for-profit organization committed to serving the aging community with compassion and respect. We recognize and honor seniors as individuals, and we are dedicated to promoting their health, safety, dignity, and overall quality of life.
“Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” — Mother Teresa
This guiding principle inspires our volunteers and partners, shaping our work as we strive to create meaningful, lasting impact in the lives of the seniors we serve.

The Earth Gratitude Challenge offers an appropriate holiday ritual for April 22nd, Mother Earth’s designated holiday. Simply power up the gratitude and power down the grid, getting as close to personal net zero as you can for at least an hour. See how breaking old habits and trying something new can change your life and make us the generation that saved our planet.
