Dr Cheryl Woodson and Barbados Day!

Dr Cheryl Woodson will speak today about “aging excellently”, about her life and as a mom, caregiver and physician. Secondly, our friends from the Brevard Carribbean American Sports and Cultural Association (BCASCA), Mr Eustace D. King, Lt Col, USAF Retired and Janice Bispharm, social worker will be joining us. BCASCA is sponsoring Barbados Day in Palm Bay Florida to Celebrate Barbados Independence and Transition to Republic on November 21, 2021 at Fred Poppe Park.

Dr Cheryl Woodson

Cheryl is a wife, mother, doctor, businesswoman, educator, and an author. She has earned a 2nd degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and is an experienced family caregiver who navigated her mother’s 10-year journey with Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. Cheryl Woodson taught and practiced Geriatric Medicine for almost 40 years. With board certifications in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Health Care Quality Management, Dr. Cheryl served on the medical faculty at The University of Chicago and Northwestern University before directing her own private practice and working in managed care administration. Additionally, Dr Woodson has served on eldercare and educational policy committees for national academic, government, and not-for-profit organizations and is a current board member of the National Council on Aging.

An accomplished author, Dr Cheryl, publishes books that support family caregivers and encourage women to take better care of themselves. Under the pseudonym, Teria Robens, she also writes contemporary romance about heroines who are grown women. Although she has “retired,” Dr. Cheryl continues to write, speak, and consult. She advocates for older adults and their caregivers and challenges women to LIVE OUT LOUD and AGE EXCELLENTLY!

Barbados Day

Barbados day in 🌴 Palm Bay Florida 😀 is scheduled on Sunday, November 21st, 12 to 8 PM. Barbados day is a day of celebration for the Republice. This day celebrates Independence Day and Transition to the Republic for Barbados. To enjoy a great day of Caribbean culture and friends, join us! The event will be at Fred Poppe, Regional Park.

Our Friends, Mr Eustace D. King, Lt Col, USAF Retired and social worker, Janice Bispharm did a fantastic job telling us about the organization and the strong Carribbean culture that exists in Palm Bay. This celebration is about great food, music, family and friends and for us to share in our neighbors past time!
