David Jolly for Florida Governor
David grew up in Florida, the son of a pastor. Today, David and his wife Laura are raising their young family in Pinellas County where he served in Congress from 2014-2017. In Congress, David focused on helping veterans and seniors, supporting law enforcement, protecting the environment, and bringing resources back to Florida. David’s work to clean up government corruption was featured on 60 Minutes.
David became nationally known for his independent streak, leading The Tampa Bay Times to write, “It’s refreshing to hear someone take on the system.” One Washington Post columnist famously penned, “Jolly speaks the truth.” And upon leaving Congress, another columnist wrote, “Farewell to the one Congressman willing to compromise.”
David has spent the last eight years as a political analyst on MSNBC. His work has been featured in Time, USA Today, Roll Call, The Washington Post, The New York Times, CNN, NBC, and The Tampa Bay Times. David received a Bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a Juris Doctor Cum Laude from George Mason.
Tara Gibson for Brevard County School Board 2026
Tara Gibson, affectionately known to many as “Coach T,” is a dedicated educator, community advocate, and leader with over 15 years of experience in the public school and higher education systems. A proud graduate of the University of Central Florida, Tara has spent her life investing in the next generation an educator, mentor, and coach.
Unique Qualifications & Experience
Tara’s career is defined by her ability to bridge the gap between secondary and higher education. Currently, she works directly with high school students navigating the dual enrollment process, helping them earn college credits while completing their high school diplomas. Her diverse professional background includes:
- Academic Leadership: Academic Coach, Outreach Advisor and Academic Advisor
- Classroom & Coaching Experience: Over a decade of teaching and coaching across Florida, in the NBA G-League and internationally with NBA India.
- Community Impact: In 2020, Tara launched a nonprofit that has served over 3,000 residents in North Brevard through developmental programs, workshops and partner collaborations.

Tara believes in educational excellence through accountability and partnership. As your School Board member, her goals are to:
- Expand Opportunity: Strengthen educational and vocational programs to ensure every student is “future-ready.”
- Foster Connection: Act as a bridge between families, educators, and the district to ensure every voice in District 1 is heard.
- Champion Stability: Provide leadership characterized by restraint and reason, focusing on student outcomes above all else.

She is committed to a school system where teachers, admins and support staff feel supported, parents are engaged, and students have every tool necessary to succeed. Her leadership is rooted in the community where she has served for decades—from volunteering with the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, Hummingbird Food Pantry and many others to collaborating with the Titusville Fire Department for an elementary read-in.
